After a long and successful business career I rewarded myself by going back to university, this time studying a life-long time passion, art.  I spent five years in the Painting Faculty at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, Alberta, graduating with a BFA (with distinction) in 2006. I have been painting full-time for over 12 years, eight of which have been exclusively with the encaustic medium.

I have long had a fascination with anything that harbors a past, which explains why this ancient medium holds such fascination for me. During the process of producing my work, I consider my motivation and intention. The overall imagery and placement in my work is meant to send the viewer into contemplative thought—one of altered time. The encaustic medium lends itself to decoding the iconography of the past through its thick layers; accordingly, the final arrangement remains as provocative as truth and as mysterious as myth.
